Anyone else use/drink "MiO Liquid Water Enhancers"?

I’ve been drinking a lot of water recently because A) it’s healthier and B) cheaper (every dollar counts nowadays). But it’s also “boring” and, of course, flavourless.

I’ve seen the ads for all of these “enhancers” but ignored them til this weekend when I picked up a little MiO Liquid Water Enhancer squirt pack.

I’m actually very pleasantly surprised at how much flavour there is out of a couple little squirts and how it makes me want to drink even more water – which I assume is a good thing.

They are a little bit expensive (over $5/box at my local grocery store) but I’ll “splurge” on them.

I noticed there are a bunch of others companies in the category. Does anyone have an opinion on some of the competitors or should I stick with the MiO’s?

  1. I used to use them a lot, but the artificial sweetener aftertaste got to me after awhile. I stick with green teas now. You can brew a big kettle, let it steep for longer than you otherwise might for a cup, dilute with more water, and pour it over ice. Keep it in the fridge, and it’s good for a few days.

I will sometimes cut up a cucumber and keep it in water in the fridge. It sounds odd, but it is very refreshing.

  2. I get the taste too and while I generally don’t like it, I don’t mind it with this particular enhancer.

I can’t see me drinking green tea like that. I’m not that old. Or a woman.

    (Yeah, I said it… 🙂 )

  3. Is it a flavor enhancer or does it provide any actual benefit?

It makes you want to drink more water with it in it?

    1. Their web site doesn’t seem to pimp any “health benefits”. The text on the packaging is too small for me to read it so I can’t tell. 🙂

And because the water has a pleasant taste, I seem to be “less bored” with it and therefore, drinking more.
